Whether you’re new to HYROX, haven’t nailed your 5K yet, or are returning to structured training, the FORDERS Foundation HYROX session provides a clear pathway for progression, giving new athletes the same environment, structure, and community as the main group while building the foundations needed to move into the more advanced classes.
Foundation HYROX is where real preparation starts. It follows the same structure as the main programme and is designed to help you develop your base fitness, sharpen your conditioning, and learn the HYROX format before stepping into a full race or simulation.
It mirrors the same HYROX movements and format, including runs, ERGs, sleds, farmers, lunges, and wall balls, but with reduced distances, lighter loads, and more coaching emphasis on technique and pacing.
WHY FORDERS?
Progressive weekly programming
Sessions follow the same race-style structure - runs combined with functional stations like sled pushes, carries, lunges, and wall balls, but with shorter runs, lighter loads, and scaled reps.
Coaching support
Each session is fully coached, focusing on pacing, technique, and transitions between movements.
Gradual progression
Volume and intensity increase over time, helping you improve your running and build your strength and endurance safely, so you can move confidently towards the full HYROX format.
Solo and pairs formats included
Programming covers both solo and doubles, so you can train for either category as you improve.
Race Standard equipment
Train on our private, fully-lit 1km or 250m track. No traffic, no interruptions, so you get a real feel for the compromised runs and transitions. Every station uses high-quality kit that you’ll find at a HYROX, simply adjusted for load or volume.
Full HYROX training environment
Foundation athletes train alongside the wider HYROX community, building familiarity and confidence before stepping up. You’ll be training with others who share similar goals, learning the format, building confidence, and working towards your first race. The same high-energy environment applies, but with more coaching support and focus on progression over competition.
